Board Certification & Training

Board Certification

A candidate completing one of the three basic mediation trainings, a second basic mediation training course or one of the Academy’s elective courses shall qualify the candidate to make application for designation as a Board Certified Member of the Academy. In addition to submitting a written application to the Certification Committee and satisfactorily completing the required classwork, the candidate must also:

  • Complete 25 Mediations (pro bono mediations will count toward satisfying this requirement).
  • Submit three letters of recommendation from persons or legal representatives who were present at mediations conducted by the candidate.
  • Apply for and receive written recognition by the Credentials Committee.

Board Certification is the highest professional status awarded by the Academy

  • Basic Comprehensive Family Mediation 40hrs
  • Advanced Mediation 24hrs
  • Attorney Role in Mediation 24hrs
  • Arbitration 24hrs
  • Negotiation 24hrs
  • ADR Systems Design 24hrs
  • International Commercial Dispute Resolution 24hrs

 

Certificate of Completion

A member completing any of the above training will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Academy.
